Change Management is the discipline of following established processes and controls designed for the purpose of maintaining the integrity of the IS infrastructure and/or to prevent unscheduled outages to services.
The role of our Enterprise Change Management (ECM) team is to provide oversight and guidance to local and regional change advisory boards (CABs). It is also to manage these processes, controls and activities for the review, coordination, approval, and implementation of all changes. This is done in order to expose and understand the associated risks of performing changes to our production environments.
ECM is invoked through the Request for Change (RFC) process. It is for all new installations of, or changes to, production networks, telecommunications, application software, system software, hardware, and databases that are managed and/or maintained by centralized or de-centralized groups.
All changes to production environments (adds, moves, deletes or modifications), must follow the standard ECM process.
