IPM Upgrade Changes: ED

PM Cutover Activities

With our IPM upgrade, a scheduled overnight downtime is planned for September 9, 2010, from approximately Midnight through 4:00 a.m. to upgrade to the new CPM version.  To prepare for this cutover, please follow the steps below:

1. During the shift prior to or during the downtime:

1. Renew any restraint orders that will expire during or immediately after the downtime.

2. Complete all documentation using paper downtime flowsheets.

2. During the shift after the downtime:

1. Add new Patient Care Summary Flowsheets to the toolbar (click here for instructions)

2. Document a full patient assessment using new Patient Care Summary

3. Add necessary LDAs to new Patient Care Summary (click here for instructions)

3. Use Chart Review to view old patient information.

4. Do NOT document on “Old” Patient Care Summary.

5. Scan or re-enter downtime documents into Epic according to downtime procedures.

6. Update “Private” Reporting Workbench reports as necessary.
